    ?

At night, Lele reads fairy tales in the room.  Her head rested on her father's lap, and then her father dried her hair with a hair dryer.

"Dad, last time my mother came home, she helped me dry my hair. It was very comfortable." Lele said with half-closed eyes.

"Why, can't I blow your hair for you?" He Zhimian shook his head and smiled.

"Father is good, but it's even better if mom is here." Lele said while covering her face with the book.

He Zhimian took out the cotton pajamas from the dryer, patted them loose, and then carefully put them on for Lele, "Your mother actually misses you very much, but she is going to fight the virus villains in the hospital. I really don't have time now."  Come play with you. When the virus is defeated, mother will go home."

Lele's chubby hands came out of the slightly warm sleeves, her small water chestnut-like mouth was tightly sucked, and her eyes glistened with water: "Father, you are lying."

Hearing this, Zhi Mian couldn't help but frowned: "Ah? When did I lie to you?"

"You lied to grandma, mother is not in Shanghai at all." Lele suddenly shouted.

"Hush" Zhimian hurriedly covered Lele's small mouth, and said in a low voice, "Little ancestor, please keep your voice down."

"When you sent a message to your mother in the morning, I heard that you asked her to pay attention to her health in Jiangcheng." Lele lowered her head, seeming a little unhappy.

It was only then that Zhimian remembered that the little girl overheard the voice message when she sent it in the morning.  He originally wanted to explain something to his daughter, but at this moment, the corners of his mouth were so tight that they couldn't be pulled apart, as if they were pasted with adhesive tape.

He calmed down a bit, pondered for a while, and then gently embraced Lele and hugged her tenderly: "Lele, after the new year, you will be an older child, right?"

    "Well, yes." Lele nodded softly.

"Your mother is indeed not in Shanghai. She went to Jiangcheng, where there are the most virus villains. When you were on the mountain today, you were right. Your mother is the most powerful and brave angel. I can't tell grandma about this for now.  Otherwise, she will be worried. Mom doesn't want this, this is an agreement between us and mom, we must keep it secret until she comes back, do you understand?" Zhimian pinched Lele's face and said.

Lele's eyes were round and round, her cheeks were as red as little apples, and she clapped her hands with her father half-understood, as if they were guarding something extraordinary together.

After working all night, when she returned to the hotel to rest in the morning, Pei Jing still barely supported her eyelids, resisting the tiredness that kept pressing down on her eyelids.

"Hey, Xiao Pei, I hung a pair of insoles for you at the door of the room. It was made by an aunt named Liu, who was waiting for you in the hotel lobby last night. I think the old man is getting old, so I persuaded him to go back.  Well, I won¡¯t tell you any more, I¡¯m going to drive to the hospital, you should have a good rest.¡± Liu Yongqing said hello to Pei Jing, and hurried to the shuttle bus.

Pei Jing waved her hand towards the gate blankly, then took the elevator upstairs.  When she entered the door, she brought in the plastic bag on her handle.  Inside was indeed a pair of delicate chrysanthemum-shaped insoles. Holding Pei Jing in her palm, she felt a different kind of warm current wandering in her heart.

The morning light outside the window was soft, Pei Jing curled up on the sofa, closed her eyes, whenever she touched a stitch on the insole with her hands, she felt the softness in her heart awakened again.

She wanted to say thank you in person to the old man, but when she thought about it, she realized that there was no contact information of Grandma Liu, so she had to give up temporarily.

With a "buzz", the phone vibrated, and Pei Jing subconsciously connected to the video, but unexpectedly, Lele's chubby face filled the screen of the phone.

"Mom!" Lele yelled in a childish voice, and immediately opened her arms to hug her excitedly at the other end of the video.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
