Episiotomy is familiar to medical students who have studied obstetrics and gynecology. It is a very common knowledge point in obstetrics.  Unlike cesarean section, it is a surgery often seen in obstetrics and midwifery.  The purpose is to prevent the mother from having an oversized fetus squeeze her perineum during delivery, causing tearing of the perineum and damage to the mother's pelvic floor muscles. To this end, a wide incision of the perineum is performed in advance to expand the volume of the perineum.

Some pregnant women don¡¯t understand this. They only hear that the doctor suddenly wants to perform a knife on a good part of their body. They don¡¯t understand it and are afraid of leaving scars.

In fact, due to the neat fracture surface of the episiotomy wound, it is much easier to heal than the uneven tear wound caused by perineal tear, and basically does not leave any big scars.  Moreover, if the pelvic floor muscles are really injured during labor, it will have a considerable impact on the mother's physical health and life in the future.

It is even more impossible for a doctor to stab a patient casually.  An extra cut would be a big problem for the doctor. The doctor is responsible for the healing of this cut.  Surgery will only be performed when the mother's condition is judged to be necessary.

Episiotomy can generally be done by a midwife, not a doctor, which further illustrates that the risk of this operation is very low.

From the above, it can be seen that the mother's worries mainly come from the doctor's failure to explain the mother well before the operation, resulting in the mother's complaints.

The suspicion between doctors and patients is often reflected in these details.

Many domestic clinical doctors do not do enough in doctor-patient communication and are unwilling to pay.  There is only one reason. Domestic doctors have to deal with too many patients every day and do not have time to do detailed medical science popularization.

There are also many clinical patients who are suspicious, and there are many patients who are seriously suspicious.  If you say it in advance but don't do it in the end, I'm afraid the mother will have doubts again and again.

"It's not that I don't know. I'm trying to test your senior sister's current situation and the need for side surgery." Lin Hao gritted his teeth and asked Li Qian not to get too confused.

Determining when a mother needs a lateral incision is a technical job, rather than memorizing it from a textbook.  This may require some clinical internship experience to support this.  Li Qian had seen many cases in the obstetrics department. After thinking about it, he said, "Maybe it's because the senior sister is a first-time mother?"

Here, when Li Xiaobing heard that the big boss suddenly wanted to give her a knife, she couldn't help but feel nervous like other mothers, and wondered why she wanted to have a side cut.

Seeing this, Dr. Tang tactfully helped her husband comfort the patient and explained: "Xiao Bing, don't be nervous. Side incision is normal." Immediately following the redundant medical terminology, Dr. Tang directly gave his own example:  "When I gave birth to my son, I also had a sideectomy. How could we be the first child?"

For first-time mothers, first-time mothers are more likely to have a tight perineum than multiparous women. There is a greater chance that the mother¡¯s perineum will be burst when the fetus comes out, causing perineal tears. In most cases, side incision is required.

So, is classmate Li Qian¡¯s guess correct?  No, that's only about half true.  Lin Hao narrowed his eyes, and the silence on the faces of the big guys at the scene indicated that something was fishy.  Classmate Li Qian noticed the subtle atmosphere and also did not dare to show off his ordinary talents.

¡°In Li Xiaobing¡¯s case, doctors may have to consider other special factors more.  For example, if the mother has a heart disease and needs to shorten the second stage of labor, lateral incision can make the delivery faster.  Furthermore, assisted delivery in breech position is difficult to deliver, and lateral incision is inevitable.  (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
