Rong Jiashang walked into the house, stepping on the stains and broken porcelain pieces left on the carpet by the spilled food under his feet.

On a cloudy day, there were only a few wall lamps turned on in the house, and the whole house became gloomy, becoming more and more like a prison where prisoners were held.  And Rong Dingkun was huddled in the shadow of the bed, breathing hoarsely, like a ghost trapped in the cellar.

The waiter said to Rong Jiashang in fear: "The master's addiction to cigarettes is so bad that he almost destroyed the house just now. The eldest lady called Dr. Thompson over and gave the master an injection before he fell asleep."

Rong Jiashang waved the waiter away, pulled up a chair and sat down beside the bed.

Rong Dingkun was wrapped in quilt and slept uneasily.  His dry, dark yellow face was covered with fine beads of sweat, and he was breathing heavily. Most of his hair, which was only slightly gray, had turned white in just a few days.  The tall, straight, charming middle-aged man in the past has now become a shriveled and skinny old man, shivering in the quilt, breathing like a bellows in his chest, as if he could die at any moment.

In Rong Jiashang¡¯s memory, Rong Dingkun was never gentle and kind enough, but he was always tall and strong and was the backbone of the family.  When Rong Jiashang was young, he thought this pillar would never fall, and he didn't know if he could replace him.  But no one expected that this pillar had already decayed from the inside.  All it takes is one bullet and some opium to make Rong Dingkun fall completely.

And Rong Jiashang found that even though he was not ready yet, he had succeeded his father in holding up the crumbling ceiling.  He didn't know how long he could hold on, after all, he was still too immature.  But once he takes on this important responsibility, he will not think about shirk it.

"Probably the medicine has worn off," Rong Dingkun hummed and faintly woke up.

Rong Jiashang leaned over and said, "Dad, how do you feel? What do you want to eat?"

Rong Dingkun opened his cloudy eyes and tried hard to identify the young man in front of him.  Then, he said coldly and disgustedly: "Go away." Then he turned away.

Rong Jiashang disagreed, sat up straight and said: "I just had a phone call with Dr. Robert from the United States. He is very interested in your case. If your body is okay, I can have someone prepare it now. I will send it in person.  You go to New York. Madam and several aunts, just tell me who you want to accompany you. If the operation goes well, you will have the opportunity to accompany Fang Hua to the altar at her wedding - they plan to hold a Western-style ceremony  wedding."

Rong Dingkun slowly turned his head and stared at the eldest son with sinister eyes.

"You know what's the most ridiculous thing, Kashang. You didn't want to inherit this family business in the first place."

"Yes." Rong Jiashang nodded, "Even if I take over the company now, it is not out of my subjective will, but out of responsibility. I am just fulfilling my obligations."

"Is your duty to destroy the family fortune I have worked so hard to build over half my life?" Rong Dingkun said angrily.

"On the contrary, I am saving the Rong family!" Rong Jiashang raised his voice, "You took the lead in establishing the Rong family, but you did not build it alone. Neither the elders nor the shareholders are willing to let the Rong family be destroyed by you and Meng Xu'an.  I don¡¯t want the younger brothers and sisters below to be involved in your past blood debts. Dad, you can scold me for being cowardly and prodigal all you want. But I am really trying to save you from your end.  When you can not only think about yourself, but also think about others and your family, then think about how to accuse me."

Rong Dingkun gasped and stared hard at Rong Jiashang: "Without me, there would be no Rong family today. I have done so many things for this family, and I have given up so many things to build this. What have you done for me?  What has this family done? Son, you have no right to accuse me of being selfish!"

"You did those things all for yourself!" Rong Jiashang said firmly, "Women are just objects to you, and children are just bargaining chips for your marriage. When you woke up and found out about Fang Hua,  Without even a word of concern, he opened his mouth and called her a loser. Later, when he found out that Wu Yunzhi was willing to marry her, he immediately changed his words and praised her for being lucky. Do you know how sad Fang Hua is and how disappointed Fang Lin is? "

"Aren't girls raised just to have a useful marriage?" Rong Dingkun sneered disdainfully, "If you want to enjoy the glory and wealth of the Rong family, you have to take responsibility. Either you contribute to the Rong family, or you have to  Don¡¯t raise people for the Rong family. The Rong family doesn¡¯t raise useless people!¡±

"What about the Mrs. Bai who was before my mother?" Rong Jiashang asked sharply, "She also gave birth to children for you, but she was just killed because she interfered with your seeking another family?"

Rong Dingkun was confused for a moment, and then he understood, and his face darkened like a dark cloud.

"Zhao Hua, his mind became more and more confused, his words were incoherent, and he could not hear clearly at all.

Rong Jiashang looked at his father's depressed appearance and felt an indescribable sadness.

It rained at night and continued until dawn.  The raindrops fell on the leaves in the courtyard, making a dense rustling sound, which sounded like the sound of waves gently lapping against the rocks on the shore.

Feng Shizhen listened to the sound of rain all night. When he woke up in the morning, he couldn't tell whether he was still dreaming.

There is no hostess in the Meng Mansion, so it is a bit colder and quieter than the Rong Mansion.  The footmen and the old lady were well trained and walked quietly.  The flowers just cut from the greenhouse were still wet with dew, and there was a faint cold fragrance floating in the air.

Feng Shizhen walked downstairs wearing soft-soled shoes and heard vague human voices coming from the study.

"Is it true?" Meng Xu'an saw the hem of the woman's green cheongsam through the half-open door of the study, "Come in. There is a guest you need to see."

Feng Shizhen walked into the study with a confused look.

"Sister?" With an exclamation, a middle-aged woman with gray hair on her temples and wearing a Yindan Shilin jacket stood up and stared at Feng Shizhen in surprise.  She is over forty years old, with fair skin, and some of her youthful beauty can be vaguely seen. However, she comes from a poor family, her clothes are simple, and her back is prone to rickets.

Feng Shizhen only felt that she looked familiar, and he suddenly understood.  This woman should be Qian's aunt.

"Sister, please watch carefully." Meng Xu'an sat on the high-backed sofa nearby, smoking and laughing, "If you admit your mistake, it will be a big joke."

The woman turned a deaf ear and strode up to Feng Shizhen, looking her up and down with burning eyes.

"It looks like her! The face does look like my eldest sister's! The eyebrows are like my brother-in-law's, especially the eyes, they are exactly the same as my brother-in-law." Qian took Feng Shizhen around and asked, "Where is the longevity lock? Are you still wearing it?"

"No." Feng Shizhen shook his head regretfully.

Meng Xian put his eyes in his mouth and his eyes flickered.

Ms. Qian sighed and said, "Then untie your hair and let me see the back of your head."

Feng Shizhen was confused, but he untied the hairpin obediently.  Qian pushed back the hair on the back of her neck. On the white skin at the root of the hair, there was a small brown-red mole the size of a sesame seed, which had been hidden in her hair.

Ms. Qian was stunned, her eye circles turned red at the sight. She grabbed Feng Shizhen with her rough hands and started to cry.

"It's you! You have a red mole here! You are the big girl!"

Feng Shizhen touched the back of his neck in a daze.  The small red mole in the hair on the back of her neck was discovered by Rong Jiashang in the bed a while ago.  Even she didn't know it before.

"How did you" Feng Shizhen was at a loss for words, "Auntie, how did you know?"

Qian wiped away her tears and said, "Why didn't I know? I was not married when my sister gave birth to you, and I didn't even know how many diapers I had to change for you. I didn't expect that you are still alive! What a mercy from God!"

His heart was beating violently in his chest, and blood rushed to his brain, causing Feng Shizhen's temples to throb.  This recognition came so quickly and so smoothly that she was a little at a loss as to what to do.

Meng Xu'an interjected: "Sister, please don't cry now and speak clearly. You tell this young lady what is going on at home."

Qian held Feng Shizhen's hand tightly and said with tears: "Your mother's surname is Bai, Bai Yuzhen, and your father's surname is Rong, Rong Dingkun. You are the only child of the fourth family of the Rong family in Guojia Town. You are Rong Jiafang."  I seem to be the fourth generation, but she is your father¡¯s first-born daughter, named Fang Zhen. The word ¡°Zhen¡± means ¡°Zhen¡±"

Like a bolt of lightning piercing the night sky, Feng Shizhen's mind suddenly lit up.  Some broken and blurred fragments flashed back to the eyes at this moment.

Under the swaying inn lantern, her mother picked her up, pointed at a man and said, "Zhen'er, call me daddy."

Mrs. Feng hugged her and asked coaxingly: "What's your name? Do you remember it?"

The little Feng Shizhen said feebly: "Zhenzhen"

"Zhen'er" Feng Shizhen murmured.  #####Continue to spill blood~~~(remember this website address: www.hlnovel.com
