The fire in the royal city burned for three days and three nights before it was extinguished, and the city was burned to a white ground.  Even half of the walls and the entire roof of the stone church were blown away, and all the windows were gone. Only ruins were left. How could it be so desolate?

Only the governor's residence was basically intact, but the sword and shield soldiers of the governor's guard were in full formation and no outsiders were allowed to enter. Even the wounded who had been burned and injured were not allowed to be carried in.

The surviving Spaniards had to huddle up under the city wall for the night to prevent the Ming Dynasty from blowing the "northwest wind" again.

What¡¯s even more tragic is that as soon as the fire was extinguished, dark clouds rolled in the sky and heavy rain poured down.

The cold made them all shivering and huddled together like drowned rats. They asked themselves over and over again, why did they come all the way from New Mexico to be non-concierges?

What¡¯s even worse is that the injured, especially those who were burned, are in great pain when they are tender on the outside and tender on the inside. When the rain pours on them, they are even more miserable and scream in despair.

The screams penetrated the rain curtain and entered the governor's mansion.

The servants in white coats used wooden boards to block the windows that were shattered by the explosion, and also blocked the horrifying screams from outside the house.

In the restaurant, Governor Sander was sitting at a long table having lunch.  Although the servants had already swept up the broken glass on the floor, wiped away the cigarette ashes that had fallen in, replaced the tablecloth with a clean one, and lit the whale oil candles on the silver candlesticks.  He even asked the band to play music for His Excellency the Governor.

But the obviously shabby dinner on the plate cannot fool anyone.  Governor Sander and Colonel Goyter had only bread and pate and a little gazpacho before them, and that was all the Governor had for his supper.

This made it difficult for Colonel Goit, who was used to eating big fish and meat, to swallow, but it was really delicious to him when he thought that the people outside were not only hungry but also wet in the rain.

But the Governor's appetite is even worse.  He is still in shock. If it weren't for internal anxiety and the priests not allowing him to stay in the church, he had to go out to the roadside to deal with it. He would have been blown up to heaven together with those priests.

Don¡¯t laugh, this is what the Chinese despise the most about red-haired ghosts. Not only do they not take baths for thousands of years, but they also urinate and defecate wherever they are, regardless of their status.  At this point, even cats and dogs are inferior

In Europe in the 16th century, the floor was the toilet for Europeans. After finishing, you would shovel into the corner with a shovel and forget about it.  Because their noses are usually paralyzed by body odor, they are naturally insensitive to feces that are close at hand.

Don¡¯t think that only ordinary people are like this.  In another time and space, it was 1655. After the British king returned from a vacation in Oxford with the princes and nobles, a local antique dealer wrote in his diary: "Although they looked well-dressed and happy, they were very rude and  Rude.  When they left, there was excrement everywhere, in the chimney, in the study, in the bedrooms, in the cellar'

"Compared to not being hygienic, France said that you are all younger brothers"

Paris, the largest city in Europe at that time, was known as the City of Shit, and its kings never bathed.  The mistress of Henry IV said that he smelled like a piece of rotten meat.  When his second wife saw him for the first time, she fainted and fell to the ground because of the stench all over his body.  There is also the Sun King who can make people unable to open their eyes Forget it, let's not talk about it, let's vomit for a while.

So it¡¯s not strange at all for the dignified Governor to defecate in the street.  So despite the fact that there are only a few thousand Spaniards in the Intramuros of Manila, they make it stink to the sky.  The stench that Zhao Hao smelled when he first arrived was actually not just the stench of corpses, but more of the stench coming from the royal city.

In short, Governor Sander was lucky enough to escape because of his poop.  But he was still shaken by the huge explosion. He sat down on the ground, and his ears are still ringing.

"Your Excellency, Your Excellency" Colonel Goit called him several times before Governor Sander heard him: "Ah, what did you say?"

"I said we have no food, no gunpowder, and no one to defend the city. What should we do?" Colonel Goit ate all the food in frustration.

"If you want to surrender, just say so." Governor Sander said with a wry smile: "I wonder if the Ming people can give us the preferential treatment we deserve?"

"Your Excellency has agreed to surrender?" Colonel Goit said happily: "Then please send someone out of the city tomorrow."

"During the Habsburg dynasty, Spain had no governor to surrender." Sander sighed and said gloomily.

"Someone has to be the first." Colonel Goit was very tolerant, but he was not the one responsible anyway.

Governor Sander rolled his eyes and drank the cold soup with a sigh.

    ??~~

Early the next morning, the previous major left the city under a white flag, crossed the Pasig River on a raft, and came to the beachhead camp to request surrender.

&nb?So big.  Who wouldn¡¯t want to be like Pizarro and his ¡®Thirteen Warriors¡¯ and be granted the title of hereditary nobility, thousands of slaves and vast estates of land?

Therefore, after following the first Governor Legazpi to capture Manila and eliminate the Luzon Sultanate, those officers, bandits, and adventurers couldn't wait to grab territory everywhere, for fear that they would be late and the good places would be taken over by others.

So they established more than a hundred strongholds at once, and then the Eight Immortals crossed the sea, each showing their magical powers, recruiting troops and horses, and using both soft and hard tactics to control their own territory.

Therefore, even with Governor Sander's warrant, it is not easy to get the officials and priests who have become lords to leave their own territory with their own teams.

By the time they finally gathered their troops and gathered in Gilmore, ten miles northeast of Manila, it was already two months later (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
