While the battle on the Bengbu frontline was in full swing, the two sides on the Lunan battlefield also entered a fierce stage!

At the tense moment of the Lunan battle, Chairman Chiang personally led Deputy Chief of Staff Bai Chongxi, Deputy Chief of Military Command Lin Wei, etc. from Wuhan to the Xuzhou front line, and convened a military meeting attended by senior military officers to discuss current and future combat issues.  Conducted research and explanations.

And Liu Bai, Lin and others formed a staff group in Xuzhou to assist the war zone in organizing and planning operations.

Subsequently, after Deputy Commander Bai and others inspected Taierzhuang, they immediately transferred 1 battalion of field artillery, 1 company of combat anti-aircraft guns, and 1 column of armored vehicles to the command of General Chi Fengcheng of the 31st Division defending Taierzhuang, which greatly strengthened the defensive strength of the main position of Taierzhuang.

As the focus of the battle between China and Japan, the location of Taierzhuang is extremely important. This small town is located in the southeast of Yi County, close to the north bank of the westward bend of the Grand Canal, and is a land and water dock.

Although Zhuangzi is not very big, there are about 4 kilometers of solid walls around the east, west and north sides of the village, and there are many village gates.  On the north bank of the canal, about 1 km west of Taierzhuang, there is Taierzhuang Station, which leads to the railway to the mining area.

In addition, there is a section of about 40 kilometers of the Grand Canal from Taierzhuang westward to Hanzhuang by Weishan Lake, as well as Liuquan, Qingshanquan, Jiawang, Zhangshanzi, Jiantou, Biantang and south of Taierzhuang on the south bank of this section of the canal.  The Yanzibu Mountains form a double natural barrier to the north and northeast of Xuzhou.

As long as Taierzhuang is captured, the Japanese army can attack Xuzhou in the west and threaten Lianyungang in the east. The geographical location is very important.

The 2nd Battalion of the enemy's 63rd Regiment broke into Taierzhuang on the evening of March 24 and was driven out by the defending 31st Division after a night of fierce fighting.  Because of the heavy casualties and large ammunition consumption, they waited for reinforcements near the north of Taierzhuang and prepared for another attack.

Beginning on the morning of the 25th, when the Tang Army launched a counterattack against the enemy near Zaozhuang, the enemy's 33rd Brigade no longer had many mobile troops. In the end, only about two infantry squadrons and two heavy artillery were deployed to Taierzhuang for reinforcements in the evening of the 25th.

But soon after the two squadrons arrived, the defenders' 31st Division launched a counterattack against them, and the battle continued until the 26th. After the first reinforcement of the Japanese army, they were still unable to launch an attack and requested continued reinforcements.

When Kai Setani, commander of the 33rd Brigade of the 10th Division of the Japanese Army, received the second telegram requesting reinforcements, he also received instructions from the 10th Division to launch a decisive attack on Taierzhuang.  On that day, Seya decided to have the 63rd Regiment Captain Furei Shinpei lead the only 3rd Battalion to reinforce.

When Furong Zhenping was on the way forward on the 27th, the 2nd Battalion in Taierzhuang had launched an attack. As a result, a section of the northeast corner of Taierzhuang was occupied by it, but the 31st Division quickly surrounded it.

Furong Zhenping set off from Yixian County on the 27th and arrived at Liujia Lake, about 4 kilometers north of Taierzhuang, in the evening to prepare for the next day's battle.

That morning, Kei Setani had decided to send the 10th Regiment to Taierzhuang. As the Tang Regiment continued to launch a fierce attack near Guoliji, east of Zaozhuang, Setani changed his decision on the night of the 27th and ordered Akashiba Yaezo's No. 1 Regiment.  The 10th Regiment did not go to Taierzhuang and moved to the vicinity of Guoliji.

During the Taierzhuang battle, the 5th Theater always placed its main force in the Zaozhuang, Yixian, and Linyi areas in the mountainous areas of southern Shandong, and launched continuous attacks on the enemy, making it impossible for Linyi, Zaozhuang, and Taierzhuang enemies to join together.

The front of Taierzhuang was heavily defended, with the 31st Division stationed in and around Taierzhuang. In addition, the theater headquarters also ordered the 27th Division and the 44th Independent Brigade to be on the east side of Taierzhuang, the 30th Division on the west side of Taierzhuang, and the 110th Division in addition to  The canal defense line was extended eastward beyond the Dunzhuang Gate. Later, the defense was handed over to the 22nd Army. The division crossed from the Wanli Gate to the north of the canal. On the west side of the 30th Division, it attacked Beiluo north of Taierzhuang.  station.

On March 27, after discovering that the main force of the Japanese army was moving south to Taierzhuang, the 5th Theater immediately ordered the Tang Corps to abandon the plan to attack Zaozhuang and Yixian, and quickly sent one unit to monitor the enemy in front of them, while the main force moved south to annihilate the enemies in Taierzhuang.

Based on the fact that the enemy actually broke into Taierzhuang on March 24, although they were driven out, but the enemy invaded the village again on the 27th, the 5th War Zone, in order to reverse this unfavorable situation, launched an attack on Hanfo Temple, about 6 kilometers south of Taierzhuang, on the 27th.  Sun Lianzhong, commander-in-chief of the 2nd Army, issued a strict order to annihilate the enemies of Taierzhuang within a time limit.

On March 28, two infantry brigades of Colonel Furong Zhenping¡¯s 63rd Regiment began their third attack on Taierzhuang.

At this time, the Japanese army outside Zhuangzi had more attached troops, including the 10th Independent Heavy Machine Gun Battalion; the 10th Light Armored Vehicle Squadron; the Chinese Garrison Brigade Combat Team's Provisional Tank Squadron (12 vehicles); and the 10th Field Artillery Regiment's 10th Regiment.  1st Battalion; 1st and 3rd Battalions of the 2nd Field Heavy Artillery Regiment; 1 squad of the Artillery Regiment of the Chinese Garrison Brigade (two 15 cm caliber howitzers); 1 squad of the 10th Engineer Regiment, etc.  .  Its firepower has been greatly enhanced. Compared with the infantry, the artillery force has exceeded 1:1, and there areAbout 30 tanks joined the battle.

Since the Japanese army greatly strengthened the firepower of the troops outside the city, the Japanese offensive firepower was extremely fierce this time. However, the defenders still had no intention of giving up Taierzhuang. In addition to conducting frontal resistance, they also launched counterattacks from both wings to contain the enemy.

Because of this, except for capturing the northwest corner of Taierzhuang in the evening, the Japanese army made no progress in other areas.

In order to counterattack the enemy, the defenders bombarded the enemy positions with mortars, mountain artillery, field artillery, heavy artillery, and train artillery to support the infantry counterattack. As a result, the Japanese attack on the 28th and 29th failed to achieve the expected results.  .

On the 29th, based on the fact that Furong Zhenhei's regiment was blocked in Taierzhuang and the 4th and 25th divisions of Tang Enbo's army and 1 brigade of the 2nd division moved south to Taierzhuang, the enemy Nishio Juzo's 2nd Army ordered the 5th Division that day.  Jun Sakamoto's 21st Brigade in Linyi suspended its attack on Linyi and quickly moved westward to Taierzhuang for reinforcements. At the same time, Kei Setani was ordered to lead the 10th Infantry Regiment to Taierzhuang in an attempt to change the war situation there.

Jun Sakamoto's 21st Brigade on the outskirts of Linyi also contracted the battlefield that night, leaving only two infantry brigades to hold on near Linyi. The remaining 4 infantry brigades and two field artillery brigades moved toward the southwest on the night of the 29th.  Heading to Taierzhuang.

On the morning of the 30th, Kai Setani, commander of the enemy's 33rd Brigade, led his 10th Regiment and tank troops from Yixian County to attack Taierzhuang in the southeast of Yixian County in two directions. They were continuously blocked by the defenders along the way.

In order to prevent the Japanese 33rd Brigade from reinforcing Taierzhuang, the Fifth War Zone also spent a lot of money. Blocking positions were constantly set up along the road from Yixian to Taierzhuang. In just a few dozen kilometers, at the marching speed of the Japanese mechanized troops, up to three  It could be reached in an hour, but due to the blocking of the defenders, it took more than twenty hours and still failed to arrive.

However, the Japanese army was also very determined in reinforcing Taierzhuang. This was the same as the Japanese army on the Bengbu front line. No matter how the defenders blocked it, the Japanese army continued to move south at all costs.

This battle lasted from early morning to around 10 o'clock in the evening. The main force of the 33rd Brigade finally arrived at Fankou, about 6 kilometers west of Taierzhuang. But even so, the 33rd Brigade still failed to join the Japanese troops outside Zhuangzi. The reason  It was the Fifth Theater Command who transferred Zhang Jinzhao's 30th Division to Fankou before the Japanese troops arrived, and tried their best to prevent the 33rd Division from continuing to advance towards Taierzhuang.

But after all, it was only six kilometers away, and the Japanese troops outside Zhuangzi could even hear the sounds of fighting between the two sides on the periphery, so the morale of the enemy's 63rd Regiment in the eastern area of ??Taierzhuang was greatly boosted.

Knowing that reinforcements were coming, the morale of the 63rd Regiment was high. With the support of the air force, they launched a fierce attack on the 31st Division of the garrison in Taierzhuang. In the evening, they captured the north bank of the canal in the south of Zhuangzhuang. Taierzhuang was occupied by them.  segmentation.

However, the 31st Division of the Zhuang Nei garrison, under the command of Division Commander Chi Fengcheng, used private houses, alleys, streets, courtyard walls and fortifications to resist vigorously, killed the enemy bravely, and launched a fierce tug-of-war with the enemy in the Zhuang Nei.

The Japanese army cooperated from the air and conducted short-range direct fire with a number of flat-fire artillery in an attempt to block and destroy the defenders' firepower points and front-line positions. The battle entered a stage of close combat.  (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
