A series of counterattacks by the Chinese army also attracted the attention of the Japanese base camp. In view of the fact that the strength of each garrison was really stretched, which greatly affected the combat effectiveness of the Imperial Japanese Army and also affected the actions of the frontline troops, the base camp is also here.  During this period, the order of battle of the Japanese troops stationed in China was adjusted.

After the 38th, 39th, 40th, and 41st Divisions were transferred to China, the Japanese army transferred five newly formed divisions to China. Among them, the 42nd Division was incorporated into the 22nd Army, and the 43rd and 44th Divisions were incorporated into the 22nd Army.  Joined the 11th Army, and the 45th Division was incorporated into the 1st Army.

Immediately afterwards, the Japanese army transferred the newly formed independent mixed 16th, 17th, and 18th brigades to China, and incorporated the independent mixed 16th brigade into the 1st Army; the independent mixed 17th brigade into the 13th Army;  The independent mixed 18th Brigade was incorporated into the 11th Army.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? After discussion at the base camp, it was decided to transfer the 20th, 101st, 108th, and 106th divisions back to the country.  Among them, the 20th Division was incorporated into the Korean Army; the 101st and 108th Divisions returned to the country for demobilization, and the 106th Division was ordered to turn back and join the South China Front Army on the way back. In order to maintain the morale of this unit, the senior Japanese army will newly organize  The Guards Mixed Brigade was incorporated into this unit.

On February 9, 1940, the base camp abolished the battle order of the 21st Army, established the South China Front Army and the 22nd Army, and incorporated them into the Chinese Expeditionary Forces battle order.

After the above adjustments, by the end of March 1940, the Japanese invaders had reached 27 divisions, 21 independent mixed brigades, 1 cavalry group, and 1 flying group, with a total strength of 800,000.

The order of battle is as follows: Lieutenant General Hisao Nishio, Commander-in-Chief of the Chinese Expeditionary Forces, and Lieutenant General Seishiro Itagaki, Chief of General Staff.  The headquarters is located in Nanjing.  It has jurisdiction over the North China Front Army, the 11th and 13th Armies, and the 3rd Flying Group.

Lieutenant General Tada Shun, commander of the North China Front, and Lieutenant General Yukio Kasahara, chief of staff.  It has jurisdiction over the 1st, 12th Army, the Mongolian Army, the 27th, 35th, and 110th Divisions, the independent mixed 1st, 7th, 8th, and 15th Brigades, the 5th Telecommunications Regiment, the North China Meteorological Department, the 2nd Field Railway Department,  Chinese garrison gendarmerie.

Lieutenant General Yoshio Shinozuka, commander of the 1st Army, and Major General Takayoshi Tanaka, chief of staff.  The headquarters is located in Taiyuan, under the jurisdiction of the 36th, 37th, and 41st Divisions, and the independent mixed 3rd, 4th, 9th, and 16th Brigades.

The commander of the 12th Army is Lieutenant General Odaka Kamezo, with his headquarters in Jinan.  It has jurisdiction over the 21st and 32nd Divisions and the independent 5th, 6th and 10th Brigades.

Commander of the Garrison in Mongolia, Lieutenant General Naosaburo Okabe, and Chief of Staff, Major General Shigeru Kei Takahashi.  The headquarters is located in Zhangjiakou, under the jurisdiction of the 26th Division, the independent mixed 2nd Brigade, and the Cavalry Group.

The commander of the 11th Army was Lieutenant General Sonobe Kazuichiro (replaced by Lieutenant General Anami Yuiki in April 1941), and the chief of staff was Major General Aoki Shigemai.  The headquarters is located in Hankou and has jurisdiction over the 3rd, 4th, 6th, 13th, 33rd, 34th, 39th, and 40th divisions, and the independent mixed 14th, 18th, and 20th brigades.

The 13th Army, commander Lieutenant General Sawada Shigeru, Chief of Staff Major General Sakurai Shozo, is headquartered in Shanghai.  It has jurisdiction over the 15th, 17th, 22nd, and 116th Divisions, which are independently combined into the 11th, 12th, 13th, and 17th Brigades.

The commander of the 3rd Flying Group, Lieutenant General Toshiro Kinoshita, is headquartered in Peiping and has jurisdiction over the 1st and 3rd Flying Groups.

The commander of the South China Front, Lieutenant General Ando Toshiyoshi, and the chief of staff, Major General Nemoto Hiroshi, have headquarters in Guangzhou.  The South China Front has jurisdiction over the Indian Army Expeditionary Force, the 18th, 38th, 48th, and 104th Divisions, the Guards Division, the 10th Independent Composite Brigade, and the 21st Independent Flying Group.

This time the Japanese army adjusted the order of battle of the Japanese invaders in China. Its scope and scale are unprecedented. According to the arrangements of the base camp, after this adjustment, the number of troops on the Chinese battlefield will increase by at least 200,000.

This is equivalent to adding at least 13 three-unit garrison divisions to the Chinese battlefield, and this only refers to the Kwantung Army inside the Pass, and the Kwantung Army outside the Pass is not included.

In fact, as early as last September after the Battle of Nomenkan, the headquarters ordered the Kwantung Army Headquarters to strengthen its troops and be ready to fight against the Soviet Union at any time.

Therefore, in less than half a year, the total number of the Kwantung Army increased rapidly from 150,000 to 250,000. If these Japanese troops are included, the total number of Japanese troops on the entire Chinese battlefield at this time has exceeded one million.

It is worth mentioning that this is only the number of Japanese troops, not counting the large number of puppet troops.

In fact, the reason why the Japanese army was able to wreak havoc on the land of China is that the puppet army is a group that must be mentioned. In the vast area of ??China, there is the Puppet Manchukuo National Defense Force in the Northeast, the Puppet Mongolian Army in the northern grasslands, the North China Security Army in North China, and the Puppet Manchukuo National Defense Force in Central China.  It is composed of Wang Ni's traitor troops.

Although each of these puppet troops is not very large, their total number is astonishing, exceeding 600,000. Together with the more than one million Japanese troops, their total strength is impressively close to 1.7 million.

It can be said that at the beginning of 1940, both sides were actively accumulating strength in order to make a splash this year.

Li Guoyao saw this very clearly, so he did not care about it during this period.Although the fighting between the two sides was fierce, his troops never took action, and everyone was seated to watch the show.

But as the fighting between the two sides gradually ended and the sound of gunfire on the battlefield slowly fell silent, Li Guoyao knew that the good days were over.

After all, the troops in southwest Shandong still occupy Heze and other places. The Japanese army could not free their hands before, so there was no movement. Now that the Sulu Theater Headquarters has withdrawn its troops from the front line, it will take some time to regain strength. The little Japanese will definitely take advantage of this period.  Time to counterattack in southwest Shandong.

On March 20, Li Guoyao issued an order to the commander-in-chief of the garrison in various places, asking them to return to the Wawashan headquarters two days later for a meeting to discuss the next layout of the troops.

Two days later, the generals gathered at Wawa Mountain. During the three months of rest, Li Guoyao applied to the Military Commission for a large number of military uniforms, and they are all in place now.

Naturally, the Military Commission would not refuse Li Guoyao's request. For Chiang Kai-shek, as long as what he wanted was not establishment numbers and weapons and equipment, everything else was easy to negotiate, even money.

The Military Commission responded to a mere 20,000 sets of military uniforms on the same day and allocated them through the Sulu Theater Headquarters within ten days.

At the same time, Li Guoyao also ordered the logistics department to work overtime to produce military uniforms and quilts. Anyway, hundreds of thousands of pieces of cloth were seized some time ago, and a large number of female soldiers were recruited, and they were brought to the logistics department to produce military uniforms.  Couldn't be more appropriate.

Under Li Guoyao¡¯s personal instructions, 50,000 sets of military uniforms were delivered to the troops in less than two months.

Therefore, all the officers in this meeting were wearing new military uniforms. In addition, Li Guoyao also used this time to uniformly adjust the positions and ranks of the troops. There will no longer be squadron leaders wearing big-headed soldiers' uniforms.

The officers participating in this meeting are all the main persons in charge and chiefs of staff of the base areas. The deputy commanders all stay in the base areas. The commanders and chiefs of staff of each base area are basically at the level of major general. Therefore, as soon as you enter, they are all generals, except for a few.  A school official.

We haven¡¯t seen each other for several months. These national army officers are very happy. Since the beginning of the 1937 War, they have been at the forefront of the battle and have no time to rest at all. This two and a half month rest is really rare.  .

After meeting again, everyone was so happy, bragging to each other, so uncomfortable!

At this moment, there was a sound of "tapping" footsteps outside the conference room, and then the guard loudly announced: "The commander is here!"

Hearing the guard's announcement, the noise and noise in the entire conference room disappeared instantly. All the officers straightened their backs, looked solemn, and waited for the arrival of the god-like officer!  (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
