While the Chinese army is actively preparing for war, the Japanese army has also completed pre-war preparations!

In order to completely annihilate the hundreds of thousands of Chinese defenders in the Zhongtiao Mountain area, the Chinese Dispatch Force Headquarters ignored the unfavorable situation of declining public security in the guarded area and bit the bullet and sent the 15th and 33rd troops belonging to the Central China Theater  The division was transferred to North China and attached to the North China Front.

It also mobilized the 32nd and 83rd Flying Groups from the Kwantung Army to North China to cooperate with the main force of the 3rd Flying Group to launch operations at Yuncheng and Xinxiang airports to provide air coordination.

Then, the Japanese and Chinese North China Front also made adaptive adjustments to the forces under their jurisdiction and organized them into a sequence to participate in the Battle of Zhongtiao Mountain - the 1st Army: the 33rd, 36th, 37th, and 41st Divisions, which were independently combined  The 4th, 9th, and 16th Brigades, Army Reserves!

Regiments directly under the control of the Front Army: the 21st and 35th Divisions, originally attached to the first section of the 4th Cavalry Brigade and the 3rd Flying Group of the 35th Division.

The overall commander is Lieutenant General Shun Tada, commander of the North China Front. The total number of troops in this attack is about 100,000, which is the largest number of troops dispatched in a single battle since the establishment of the North China Front.

In order to cooperate with the attack on Zhongtiao Mountain, in the first half of 1941, Japan organized 63 brigades of troops to first implement a blockade on China's southeastern coast.

At the same time, the so-called flexible and quick-decision operations were implemented on the frontal battlefield, that is, the battles of southern Henan and Shanggao were launched.

After careful deployment, the Japanese and Chinese North China Front decided to have the 1st Army attack from Shanxi Province, and the 21st and 35th Divisions to attack from Henan Province. They decided to place the combat area on the Zhangma-Yuanqu line and divide it into two parts: east and west.  region, with the focus always on the western region.

It attempts to use the established positions and the obstacles of the Yellow River on the front to cut off the retreat with advancing troops, quickly wedge in and break through the enemy positions from both sides, and completely surround the Chinese army. Then, with rapid internal annihilation battles and repeated raids, the defenders will be completely surrounded and annihilated.

In order to confuse the Chinese army, from the end of April to the beginning of May, the Japanese army mobilized frequently and created various rumors, using this as a cover to complete the deployment of attacking Zhongtiao Mountain!

As of early May, the 36th, 37th, and 41st Divisions, the 3rd and 9th Independent Brigades, and the Puppet 24th Division of the First Army of the Japanese Army in Shanxi were distributed in Jiangxian, Henglingguan, Wenxi, and  Xia County, Anyi, Yuncheng, Jiezhou, Yongji, Fenglingdu, Hejin and the areas north of Wenxi and Xia County.

The 4th Independent Brigade attached to the 33rd Division is located in Yangcheng, Qinchi, and Qinshui.

The 35th and 21st Divisions and the puppet troops Zhang Lanfeng and Liu Yanfeng are located in Wenxian, Qinyang, Boai, Dongfeng, Xinxiang, Jiaozuo, Gaoping, Changzi, Lingchuan and other areas.

On May 5, the North China Front Army Headquarters ordered the 14th large-scale attack on Zhongtiao Mountain, setting the time for the general attack on May 7, codenamed "The Battle of the Central Plains."

The Japanese army determined that the purpose of this battle was to eliminate and mop up the main force of the Central Army entrenched in Shanxi and Henan, eliminate its forces north of the Yellow River, and expand and utilize the results of this battle to ensure stability in North China.

The guidance of the operation is to completely destroy the Chinese army to the west of the Zhangma-Yuanqu line and to inflict a heavy blow to the Chinese army to the east of the line. The main force of the First Army is to be lined up from left to right on the northwest side of Zhongtiao Mountain.  The 41st Division, the 9th Independent Brigade, the 36th Division, the 37th Division, and the 16th Independent Brigade broke through in many places from Sangchi to Zhangdian, heading straight towards the Yellow River to the west of Yuanqu.  On the north bank, first divide the Chinese army, and then sweep and annihilate it.

In addition, the 33rd Division attacked southward from Yangcheng; the 35th Division and the 21st Division attacked from Qinyang and Wenxian toward Shaoyuan, cooperating with the main force of the group army to attack the Chinese army.

At this time, both China and Japan were at war. One side was actively preparing for war and was determined to defend Zhongtiao Mountain, while the other side was making every effort and exerting all its strength, vowing to capture Zhongtiao Mountain. The smell of gunpowder suddenly became extremely strong, and the battle  On the verge of breaking out!

The Japanese attack first started from the air. On May 5, the commander of the Japanese Third Air Corps, Toshimoto Motoshita, opened a command post in Xinxiang!

On the same day, the two flight groups completed their assembly at the two major airports of Xinxiang and Yuncheng, and one group met at Linfen Airport.

Early the next morning, the 1st Air Wing took off from the above-mentioned airport and bombed Xi'an, Xianyang, Chengcheng, Dali, and Chaoyi. On the 7th, it bombed Tongguan, destroying the Longhai Railway there.  Break!

At the same time, the 3rd Air Wing's facilities bombed Zhengzhou and Sishui.

With the actions of the Japanese army, the emotions of both sides have reached the critical point and may break out at any time!

But at this time, neither the Japanese army nor the Chinese army noticed it. Just as they were actively mobilizing their forces and preparing for a deadly fight in southern Shanxi, the situation in southern Hebei also quietly changed.

May 5th, Xu HuAs soon as the main force of the Ninth Army, more than 20,000 people, arrived in Daming County, they did not enter the city!

Li Guoyao knew very well that Daming County has long become a gathering place for Japanese and puppet spies. Once the main force of the Ninth Army enters the city, it won't take long for the Japanese army to know that Li Guoyao is going to take action again.

With the superb IQ of Tada Shun, an old devil, it is very likely that he can guess what he is going to do!

Therefore, for the sake of confidentiality, it is better for the troops not to enter the city!

Under Li Guoyao's order, the main force of the Ninth Army rested during the day and continued westward from the Daming area at night, aiming straight for the Taihang Mountains!

Just as the main force of the Ninth Army rushed to the Taihang Mountains, under Li Guoyao's order, the independent brigade also completed its assembly. A large number of weapons, equipment, ammunition and supplies were distributed to the front-line troops. The headquarters was also moved from Erlong Mountain to Tianbaozhai.

At eleven o'clock in the evening on May 7, after five days and six nights of rapid march, the main force of the Ninth Army finally arrived in the Taihang Mountains under Li Guoyao's expectation.

Since the troops were operating in the national defense zone along the way, and they were hiding during the day and night, the Japanese and puppet troops did not know that the main force of the Jiujiu Army had arrived in the Taihang Mountains.

That night, the Japanese troops, who felt they were sure of "victory", suddenly launched in the evening and invaded the Zhongtiao Mountain area from the east, west and north in a pincer shape with a central breakthrough.

On the eastern front, the main force of the 35th Division commanded by Lieutenant General Harada Yukichi, the first part of the 21st Division commanded by Lieutenant General Hoji Sakai, and the first part of the 4th Independent Cavalry Brigade, about 25,000 people, were under the control of the puppet troops Zhang Lanfeng and Liu Yanfeng.  With the cooperation of the army, they attacked Jiyuan and Mengxian in three separate routes along the western section of Daoqing Road.

On the Western Front, the main force of the 37th Division commanded by Lieutenant General Adachi 23, the first part of the 36th Division commanded by Lieutenant General Iseki Ren, and the independent mixed 16th Brigade commanded by Major General Heiji Wakamatsu, totaling approximately 25,000 people, were reported.  Xi and Xia counties invaded Zhangdian Town from the southeast.

On the northern front, the Japanese 41st Division commanded by Lieutenant General Shimizu Noriki and the independent mixed 9th Brigade commanded by Major General Kenyoshi Ikegami, with a total of about 30,000 people, used the lightning tactic of central breakthrough to attack from the Hengling Pass to the west side of Yokogaki Avenue.  .

On the northeastern front, the first part of the 33rd Division and the first part of the independent mixed 4th Brigade commanded by the Japanese Lieutenant General Sakurai Province, with about 10,000 people, attacked the front line of Dongfeng Town from the Yangcheng side.

Based on the intelligence, the headquarters of the First Theater Commander divided the Japanese troops to attack our communications and headquarters at all levels, and used heavy troops to seize various transportation points, cut off our military's communications, defeat them one by one, blockade mountain passes and ferries, and gradually tighten the encirclement, completing  In order to plan a joint attack, he immediately ordered all ministries to target communication lines and step up guerrilla attacks to hinder the enemy's attack preparations and troop concentration.

But due to the absence of the theater commander, the above orders could not be effectively organized and implemented!

Due to the drastic change in the situation, the Japanese army came with great force.  The commander of the First Theater Command then strictly ordered all departments to maintain the current situation, smash the enemy's attempt to encroach on Zhongtiao Mountain, lure the enemy to a favorable area, divert the offensive, and then destroy it.

Various ministries responded hurriedly and fought with Japanese troops from all walks of life. The Battle of Zhongtiao Mountain officially began.  (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
