The battle is coming faster and more intense than imagined!

As the main battlefield of the Japanese attack, the focus of competition between the two sides on the Western Front was also the first place where the Japanese attacked on the ground.

On the afternoon of the 7th, the Japanese army divided into several columns, formed a frontal approach, concentrated machine gun fire, and used aircraft to induce the infantry to storm the positions of the 80th Regiment on the right wing of Wang Jun's division in Xicun, Xinliyuan, Wangjiayatou, and Liangjiayatou where the Nationalist Army was stationed.  .

In addition, a section of the 37th Division attached to the 3rd Independent Brigade launched a full-scale feint attack on the Liujiagou, Guwang, and Jiwang Wangzhiqi Divisions to contain the fierce fighting.

The national army's defenders on this line are Kong Lingxun's 165th Division of the 80th Army and the newly formed 27th Division. In addition, the 7th and 12th Divisions of the 3rd Army under Tang Huaiyuan's command, as well as the 5th Group Headquarters directly under the command  The 34th Division of Gongbingfan was also stationed on this line.

However, the Japanese army was very discerning. The West Village line of their attack was at the junction of the Tang and Kong armies, and was the weakest point on the entire defense line.

Once the Japanese army captures this place, the connection between Kong Lingxun's 80th Army and Tang Huaiyuan's headquarters will be cut off. By then, the 80th Army's position may be difficult to hold.

However, what caught people off guard was that although the defenders had made a lot of preparations before the war, they still underestimated the Japanese army's combat capabilities.

In just a few hours after the battle began, the Japanese army made major breakthroughs on multiple battlefields!

In the early morning of the 8th, the Japanese army broke through the defense line of the 27th Division east of Zhangdian. The contact between the Kong and Tang armies was cut off, and the 27th Division was routed and retreated to the Caojiachuan and Taizhai areas.

At the same time, the 165th Division of the 80th Army, which was ordered to concentrate in Wangyuan, also retreated to the Caojiachuan and Taizhai lines after being attacked by the Japanese army.

The Japanese advancing column took advantage of the opportunity and occupied Huaipa, Jianping, Nangou and other ferries below Maojin Ferry that night; the farthest column entered the junction of Pinglu, Yuanqu and Xiaxian counties.

At noon on the 9th, the 80th Army headquarters was attacked by enemy plainclothes and bombed and strafed by aircraft, further defeating the enemy.

In a melee, many officers including Wang Jun, commander of the new 27th Division, Chen Wenqi, chief of staff, and Yao Ruchong, battalion commander of the 165th Division, died near Leigongmiao Ridge in the west of Taizhai Village.  The remaining troops retreated to Nangou, the ferry of the Yellow River, in the evening.

Kong Lingxun, commander of the 80th Army, and Wang Zhiqi, commander of the 165th Division, abandoned their troops to cross the Yellow River. Troops who lost their command scrambled to cross, resulting in heavy casualties.  Liang Ruxian, deputy commander of the new 27th Division, saw that he could not do anything and threw himself into the river to die for his country.

Subsequently, the 7,000 leading Japanese troops in Xia County divided into three groups and invaded the Tang Huaiyuan 3rd Army position from the south.

At dawn on the 8th, the Japanese army captured Sijiao Village, a traffic artery in Beishan, Zhongtiao Mountain.

Then, rush all the way northwest to attack Wangjiahe, the headquarters of the 7th Division, and rush all the way southeast to attack the 3rd Army Headquarters Tanghui.

Wangjiahe was heavily surrounded by Japanese troops, and division commander Li Shilong led his troops to break through. Tang Hui was occupied by Japanese ground troops and airborne troops when the commander led a reserve team to rush to Wangjiahe's aid.

Tang Huaiyuan, commander of the 3rd Army, led the remaining personnel to retreat eastward to the Wenyu area. The Japanese army blocked the way south, and then fought fiercely with the enemy. After suffering heavy casualties, they retreated to the northeast and northwest.

The situation on the northern front was equally bad. The Chinese defenders on the northern front were Zeng Wanzhong's 5th Army and Liu Maoen's 14th Army. The Japanese army attacked at the junction of the two armies.

The Japanese army¡¯s strategic intention was to quickly capture the Henglingguan Yuanqu Avenue, take Yuanqu County directly, divide and encircle the two defending armies, and annihilate them one by one.

At the beginning of the battle, the Japanese army attacked both sides of Hengyuan Avenue with heavy troops, very crazy and very arrogant.  In this battle, Zhao Shiling's 43rd Army stationed on the northeast side of Hengling Pass and Gao Guizi's 17th Army on the southwest side suffered heavy attacks from the Japanese army at the same time.

After fierce fighting until dawn on the 8th, the 43rd Army's Shibaping position was breached, and the blockade was ineffective.  Army commander Zhao Shiling ordered the troops to abandon their positions and withdraw to the front line of Wangxianzhuang.

Although the 17th Army relied on fortifications and favorable terrain to carry out relatively effective resistance, it was eventually forced to withdraw from the defense line because both its left and right flanks were breached by the enemy.

After the Japanese army broke through the defenders' defense line in one fell swoop, they divided into two groups and moved southward along the Sangchi, Jiajiashan and Ducun Rivers. They took advantage of the favorable opportunity when the first part of the 15th Army of the Sangchi defenders fled to follow and attack.

The other road goes south along the Boqing River, passing through Gaoluo, Changzhi and Wangmao, and goes straight to Yuanqu County.

At dusk that day, the Japanese army, with the cooperation of paratroopers, occupied Yuanqu County on the bank of the Yellow River, cutting off the connection with the south bank of the Yellow River.

The Japanese army realized the intermediate breakthrough plan, and the Chinese army was divided into two halves.

On the 9th and 10th, the Japanese army divided into two routes, one to the east and the other to the west. The east route captured Shaoyuan and joined the Japanese troops advancing westward from Jiyuan; the west route advanced to Wufu Stream and joined the Japanese troops who captured Wufu Stream.

to??, the Japanese army's inner encirclement was completely formed, and the supply lines and retreat routes of the Zhongtiao Mountain defenders along the Yellow River were all cut off.

The troops in Jincheng and Yangcheng on the northeastern front also started taking action on May 7. The Chinese defenders stationed on this line mainly include the 14th Group Army Headquarters, the 98th Army of Samurai Min, as well as the 15th Army, 93rd Army and other units.  .

On the evening of the 7th, the Japanese army launched an attack on the 98th Army of Samurai Min. Commander Wu led his troops to resist desperately, fought fiercely with the enemy on the east-west line of Dongfeng, and repelled the Japanese attacks many times.

In the battle of Wangcun, 2,000 enemies were defeated and more than 700 people under Colonel Hamada were killed.

On the 10th, in view of the fact that the main ferries between Jiyuan and Yuanqu were gradually blocked by the enemy and the entire supply line of the national army on the northeastern front was interrupted, the First Theater Command ordered the main force of the 14th Group Army west of Yangcheng to quickly move north of Qinyi Highway.  Divide the route and use the maneuver of turning around to penetrate the gap to attack the enemy's flank.

?Subsequently, under the order of the First Theater Commander, all units of the Northeast Front garrison engaged in fierce battles with the enemy.

But soon, the number of enemies at Jiaokou gradually increased to three to four thousand, and they rushed into Qingfeng Geta and Meiping.

At the same time, the second mile of the joint between the 10th Division and the 98th Army was also broken through by about 2,000 Japanese troops.  The enemies trapped in Shaoyuan were also pressing towards the northwest. At this time, the national army on the northeastern front was worried about being attacked on three sides.

After thinking over and over again, the commander of the First Theater Zone had no choice but to order all ministries to retreat northward during the breakout guerrilla attack.

The Japanese army on the eastern front is also progressing smoothly. The Japanese army on the left is based in Wen County. It has more than 5,000 infantry, more than a thousand cavalry, more than 20 guns, dozens of aircraft, and more than a hundred combat, automobile, and armored vehicles.  Rush along the north bank of the Yellow River.

The Japanese troops on the middle road used Qin and Bo as their main targets. One group took the lead with more than a thousand troops and invaded the west along Qinji Avenue.

The other group led by more than 2,000 men and had more than ten cannons. After rushing west toward Yizhuang, they then pounced toward the areas of Nianzhang, Ziling, Dongduzhai, and Liucun.

At the same time, more than 3,000 people on the north bank of the Qinhe River used more than ten aircraft and more than 20 cannons to forcefully cross the Qinhe River.

In the face of the powerful Japanese offensive, the defending 9th Army Peichang Club was outnumbered. Under the attack of the powerful enemy, it implemented successive defenses and retreated successively.

Less than a day after the war began, the 9th Army abandoned Ji and Meng and retreated westward.

With the whole front retreating, the commander of the First War Zone had no choice but to order the 9th Army to use its main force to set up a position in the north of Fengmenkou to prevent the enemies of Qin and Ji from invading the west, and to use a small force to carry out a flank attack on the Japs.

Subsequently, the 9th Army Headquarters immediately deployed the main force of the newly formed 24th Division and the first section of the 54th Division to guard the front line at the gate. The 47th Division and the independent 4th Brigade of the 54th Division stationed in Wangwu were waiting to guerrilla on the Gushan line.

The sealed gate is an important pass that the Japanese army must pass through in their westward march, and the Japanese army is bound to seize it.  If the attack fails for a long time, add more troops.

However, in the context of the defeat of the entire army, all the defenders had been defeated. Fierce fighting started from the morning of the 9th to the morning of the 10th, and they were finally defeated by the enemy.

By this time, the Japanese troops in the middle route had captured Yuanqu County on the evening of the 8th and divided their forces to attack Shaoyuan.  The Chief of Staff ordered the main force of the 9th Army to cross south from Guanyang to support the river defense.

After several days of difficult offensive, the Japanese army broke through the national army's defense line at the cost of about 30,000 casualties and divided the Zhongtiao Mountain base area into two.

As a result, the Chinese troops defending Zhongtiao Mountain were unable to coordinate with each other, so they had to abandon their established positions and each defended the mountain pass, conducting uncoordinated passive resistance. The entire battle situation took a turn for the worse and became very critical.  (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
