It is said that some senior officers in the Eighth War Zone in the Hetao Plain were confused after receiving the order from the Military Commission.

They had never had any interaction with the Jiujiu Army before, and the commanders of both sides had never even met. Everyone found it incredible that they would cooperate with each other to recover Suiyuan.

"But there is no way the Military Commission is joking about this matter, and the order has been issued. The only thing they can do is to execute the order.

Like Li Guoyao, the day after the Military Commission's order was issued, Fu Yisheng, then deputy commander-in-chief of the Eighth Theater and commander-in-chief of the North Route Army of the Second Theater, immediately held a combat meeting in Shaanba Town, Hangjinhou Banner, to discuss the combat plan.  .

Just as the meeting was ending, a telegram from the Ninth Army arrived.

This telegram was sent by Ma Desheng, chief of staff of the Ninth Army. In addition to explaining the strength of the Japanese and puppet troops in the Suiyuan area to the west, it also explained some of the combat plans of the Ninth Army.

After learning that the total number of Japanese and puppet troops in Suiyuan was less than 10,000, Fu Yisheng and others were moved.

Soon, the Eighth War Zone called back to the Ninth Army and decided to launch an attack on the enemies in Wuyuan and Linhe in a week to test the strength of the Japanese army.

If the Japanese army does not send more troops to Linhe, they will send the main force directly to Baotou and attack the Japanese ruling center in Suixi. By then, the Ninth Army will also launch an attack on the eastern front.

Li Guoyao naturally had no problem with this, so he immediately ordered someone to call Fu Yisheng back and arrange it according to this plan.

Li Guoyao secretly calculated that if General Fu Yisheng's plan was implemented, the result of the Battle of Midway would be known by the time the troops launched the attack, and then the battle would be more certain.

The Battle of Midway was another major undertaking of the Japanese army after Pearl Harbor. Its main combat intention was to attack Midway Island in the Pacific in an attempt to destroy the US aircraft carrier base.

In order to capture Midway Island, the Japanese Navy organized a large first water mobile force composed of a combined fleet, including 4 aircraft carriers.

The mobile force was commanded by Vice Admiral Chuichi Nagumo. It sailed from the Seto Inland Sea on May 27 and arrived at waters about 210 nautical miles northwest of Midway Island on June 5. It immediately took off 36 attack, bombing and fighter aircraft.  The bombing of Midway Airfield by American troops began.

Because Nagumo Chuichi decided to carry out a second bombing of the airport and facilities on Midway Island, the attack aircraft that were preparing to attack the US aircraft carrier and had been equipped with torpedoes were modified with bombs, which extended the time.

When the Japanese bombed Midway Island, the troops on the US aircraft carrier not far from the island learned of the situation and immediately took off, with reconnaissance aircraft as the guide, searching for the Japanese air fleet in a predetermined direction.

When the Japanese reconnaissance plane reported the discovery of a US aircraft carrier, Nagumo Chuichi ordered his troops to still install torpedoes to attack the US aircraft carrier.

But it was too late. The U.S. carrier-based bomber group quickly arrived over the Japanese fleet and dropped bombs one after another. The SBD naval bombers among them used dive bombing. The Japanese fleet counterattacked with fighter jets and anti-aircraft guns, but the fleet was behind and behind them.  Explosion smoke and water jets were everywhere, and the silent Pacific Ocean suddenly became a scene of large-scale air and sea duels.

Soon after the battle started, the Japanese aircraft carriers "Akagi", "Kaga", and "Soryu" were shot one after another, burst into flames, and then separated from the formation dragging thick smoke and sank one after another.  The remaining "Flying Dragon" was hit by a US plane and caught fire and sank.

At this time, the Japanese pilots who took off from the aircraft carriers made an emergency landing on the water after running out of fuel.

The Japanese Navy still had 13 aircraft carriers before the Battle of Midway. During the Battle of Midway, 4 aircraft carriers built from March 1927 to July 1939 were lost within 14 hours, and all of the approximately 285 aircraft they carried were lost.  It sank to the bottom of the sea, killing and drowning a large number of pilots.

Sea, air and land battles are very different from each other. A large-scale naval and air battle at Midway took only 14 hours, but these 14 hours of battle changed the balance of power between the Japanese Navy and the U.S. Navy in the Pacific.  The advantage of the Japanese navy was weakened, and the US military began to overtake.

That is, after the Battle of Midway, Japan began to decline in the Pacific battlefield, and began to mobilize elites from the Chinese battlefield to the south on a large scale. Li Guoyao's current strong enemy, the North China Front Army, and the Kwantung Army that he was about to face were both the transportation giants of the Southern Army.  Captain, constantly pulling elite troops away.

Such a situation is naturally very beneficial to Li Guoyao's troops, which is also an important reason why he had to wait until 42 years before counterattacking.

But it¡¯s okay for him to know such things, there¡¯s no needTell others that obscene development is the most correct choice!

With Li Guoyao's order, the war machine of the Jiujiu Army, which had been dormant for several months, seemed to be activated at once, and then began to operate at high speed.

During this period, the World War II District Governor's Department also sent more than four million French currency and a large amount of food, equipment and ammunition to southern Hebei in accordance with the order of the Military Commission.

After receiving the telegram from Xu Hu from southern Hebei, Li Guoyao was overjoyed. With this batch of ammunition, he would be more confident in this battle.

Although the Sumushan Arsenal has begun production during this period, the output is indeed a bit unsatisfactory. In addition, the number of troops under his command has increased so fast that there is a huge gap in the ammunition of the troops.

Ma Desheng made statistics a few days ago. Judging from the current ammunition reserves of the army, if the entire army is engaged in battle and fights vigorously, it can last for up to a week.

¡°If we fully supply the front-line troops, it can only last for about 18 days.

This is a dangerous signal. After all, ground combat is different from naval combat. Sometimes a fight can last for several months. This small ammunition reserve is simply not enough.

The reason why Li Guoyao insisted on attacking Datong at this time was because he took a fancy to the mineral resources near Datong. With steel, coal and other resources, the arsenal of the Ninth Army would not be short of raw materials, and the troops would no longer be in need of raw materials.  Ammunition and equipment are a concern.

At that moment, Li Guoyao ordered Xu Hu and others to send two-thirds of the ammunition to the northern front, and leave the rest to them!

And just as Li Guoyao and Fu Yisheng were actively preparing for war, the Zhejiang-Jiangxi battlefield on the southern front also entered a white-hot stage.

After more than half a month of offensive, the Japanese army has captured most of the towns near Quzhou. After the main force was replenished in Jinhua and other places, it immediately launched an attack on Quzhou.

When the Japanese army attacked Quzhou, they first made a detour to form an encirclement, and then attacked.

Its deployment is that the 32nd Division and the 116th Division are located north of Qujiang. After launching the attack, the 32nd Division attacks Changshan to the west, and then detours to the left to block the retreat of the Quzhou defenders to the west.  The 116th Division attacked the outer garrison on the north bank of Qujiang River.

The 22nd Division is located south of the Qujiang River. After launching the attack, it attacked westward along the south of the railway, then crossed the Wuxi River, captured Jiangshan County, and joined the 32nd Division to block the retreat of the Quzhou defenders.

The 15th Division and the Kono mixed brigade attacked westward along both sides of the railway and occupied Quzhou.

On the morning of June 3, Zetian¡¯s 13th Army started the second phase of the campaign and attacked Quzhou according to the above plan.

The army command post is located in the highlands southwest of Longyou. On that day, the enemy attacked and advanced about 10 kilometers.

On the 4th, the Kono Brigade, the 16th Division, and the 22nd Division pushed forward side by side. After fierce battles with the defending 57th Division and 58th Division in the mountains, they forcibly crossed the Wuxi River that swelled during heavy rain.  The Kono Brigade reached the east and north of Quzhou, and the 15th Division reached the suburbs to the south.

After fighting in the suburbs all day long on the 5th, the enemy troops arrived at Quzhou City that night and began to attack the city in the rain on the 6th.

The 86th Army guarding Quzhou, its 16th Division is deployed north of Qujiang River, and its 67th Division is deployed in and around the county south of Qujiang River.

The 60th Regiment of the enemy's 15th Division, which attacked the south gate of Quzhou, and the 34th Regiment of the Kono Brigade, which attacked the north gate, moved their troops to the edge of the city on the night of June 5.  At dawn on the 6th, they first saw the dark outline of the city wall, which was not very high, and then saw the blockhouse on the city wall.

By daybreak, even though it was still raining, we could clearly see the barbed wire fence on the city wall, the fortifications made of sandbags, gun holes, bunkers, the city gate closed by sandbags, the moat about 20 meters wide outside the city, and the  Outside the burned bridge, there is a "roof-shaped" barbed wire fence outside the moat. From the barbed wire outwards, in order to facilitate observation, use of firepower, and prevent the enemy from approaching, the defenders have demolished and bulldozed many houses. Therefore, in Quzhou  Beyond the north gate, east gate, and south gate, there is an open space.  (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
