When Kang Shunfeng followed Hu Xiezi home, breakfast was ready.

Kangjiayuan and even the entire Weibei Plain eat two meals, one at nine in the morning and one at around two in the afternoon. The meal in the evening is not called a meal, but called a soup. It consists of light side dishes and some millet porridge.  .  The men could only eat a spicy steamed bun, but they still wouldn't be satisfied.

When we got home, Hu Xiezi's meal had been prepared. The dining table had been set in the yard. The mixed vegetables were placed in bowls and placed on the table. Hu Xiezi's three great-grandsons, Xu, were hungry.  , just you and I secretly lifted up the bowl and picked vegetables from inside to eat.  Seeing Hu Xiezi come in, he shouted in the yard: "Grandpa is back, let's eat¡ªeat!"

According to local rules, if the elderly do not come to the table, no meals will be served at home.  Unless the old man said he wouldn't go home for dinner.

Hu Xiezi¡¯s second son came out of the house, and while greeting his children to eat, he greeted Kang Shunfeng: ¡°Here we come! Sit down first!¡±

Kang Shunfeng called out: "Second Yamen", but did not sit down. Instead, he followed Hu Xiezi into the upper room where he lived. He first helped Hu Xiezi wash his hands, and then washed his own.  When he saw that his bag was indeed placed on Hu Xiezi's hole in the upper room, he took out his things from the bag, gave Hu Xiezi a set of old man's shirts, and put a few snacks on the cabinet.  But he took out a few bags of melon seed candies, went to the yard, and distributed them to a few children. The rest was put on the dining table for the adults to eat by themselves.

The table is full, and Kang Shunfeng is not considered a guest here, so women and children are not shy about it.

People at the table were chatting and eating, listening to Kang Shunfeng talk about the beauty and prosperity of S city and all the jokes he made there due to the language barrier. The adults showed envy, but the children only loved to listen to the jokes and imitated them from time to time.  Kang Shunfeng's narration made him giggle non-stop.

While we were eating here, the courtyard door was pushed open, and a person walked in. As he walked in, he said, "Why are you eating now? I just happened to come to add some dishes!".

    "Brother Xiangshan!" Kang Shunfeng shouted.

It was Xiang Shan who came in. When he saw Kang Shunfeng, he was obviously stunned and said, "You're back? When did you come back?" Xiang Shan was obviously more familiar with Kang Shunfeng in the Hu family. Several children jumped up first and took a sip.  An uncle shouted.

"I came back yesterday and said I would come to your house in the evening" Kang Shunfeng wanted to get him a stool while talking.  One of Hu Xiezi's granddaughter-in-law had already brought it to him.

Xiang Shan handed a paper bag to Hu Xiezi's second son and said, "Uncle, yesterday our calf fell down a cliff and died. I sent some beef to my family. I brought some."  come over!"

Hu Xiezi's second son took the meat and said, "Have you eaten yet? Sit down and eat some!"

Xiang Shan smiled and waved his hand, took the small stool and sat aside and said: "I've eaten. If you don't greet me, hurry up and eat! I just said that I would go to your house from Huya this time, and my father also asked your father to bring some."  Get rid of the meat!" The last sentence was addressed to Kang Shunfeng.

Kang Shunfeng remembered that his father had always missed Xiangshan's father, and he smiled and said: "My uncle also remembers your father. His brothers are so close now that my mother is jealous. They always say that after so many years of marriage, they have never been together."  I¡¯ve never seen you think so highly of her.¡±

Xiang Shan also smiled and said, "My mother said the same!"

Hu Xiezi usually didn¡¯t talk much when eating. He only said hello to Xiang Shan and continued eating. Over there, another granddaughter-in-law poured tea and Xiang Shan took it.  The children didn't eat anything, so they came over to him. Xiang Shan put the water aside, and one of them sat on his lap, while the other one was in his arms.

"Come down quickly, you are like a local monkey, soiling your uncle's clothes!" Hu Xiezi, a grandson, shouted.

Over there, Xiangshan smiled and said: "It's okay, it's okay, don't train the baby we don't care" But he took out a handful of jelly beans from his pocket lovingly, and several children started to grab them.

Kang Shunfeng knew that Xiangshan loved children, and he regarded every child as the same as his younger brother Xiaosan.  I usually carry some cheap jelly beans from rural shops in my pocket, specially for coaxing children.

Rural people eat simply and efficiently. After a while, the table was cleared and tea was placed again. Xiang Shan leaned on the edge of the table and drank tea with Hu Xiezi and Kang Shunfeng and started chatting.

"You know everything about Shunfeng, right?" Hu Xiezi asked.

    Xiang Shan nodded.

Hu Xiezi said: "He came back this time and got an errand from the place where he worked. You can help him with it. I have taken you past those people in the past. The friendship is only for use. If you don't use the friendship, it will be useless."  Slowly fading away I have been thinking recently, you are very skilled in this body"Then we should invite at least eleven!"

Xiang Shan nodded and said, "Then write a letter, I don't know much about writing!"

Kang Shunfeng spread out his paper and pen, and wrote letters one after another. After each letter, Xiang Shan took it over and used his pen to draw different symbols on the front and back of the letter.  These symbols were monograms, similar to today's ciphers.  The houses that Hu Xiezi visited all had monograms that Hu Xiezi left for people that represented his identity. After the other party received the letter, he took out a pair of the deposits and knew whether they were true or false.

Xiangshan drew the monogram that the other party left for Hu Xiezi on the front of the letter, and the monogram that Hu Xiezi left for the other party on the back.  This is safer.

Xiangshan drew the pressed flowers very skillfully.  At first glance, these pressed flowers are basically the same, but upon closer inspection, they are different.  It's really hard for him to remember.

I kept writing until about three o'clock in the afternoon, and a total of fifteen letters were written. Immediately, the third son divided the letters with Hu Yuan and others, agreed on who would invite which route, and went back to the province without further delay.  City, everyone went to their own places to invite people.

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????,  Xiangshan was familiar with people in Pinghou Town, so he directly found a van. Sanzi and the others chartered the van and went straight to the provincial capital.

The two of them saw off the third son and the others, picked up Kang Shunfeng's things, and returned to Kang's homeland.
