Lin Rui jumped out of the Hummer and nodded, "They did a pretty good job, but they had no defense at all. If they had been prepared, the situation would have been completely different."

"It's over so soon? I'm not satisfied yet." Ivan shook his head and laughed.

"Then let's set off another large fireworks. You and Peng Lefeng go into the mine together and install explosives. Pay attention to try to destroy some of the main support points, reinforcement areas, etc. We will make the entire mine collapse, at least within a few days.  It cannot be recovered within a month. Qin Fen, you and Yelena cover them at the entrance of the mine." Lin Rui said loudly.

"Then what are we doing?" Vitak said.

"Let's release those locked up workers." Lin Rui nodded and said, "It's almost time. Once we detonate the explosives, we will definitely alert the nearby rebels. And these workers have been exhausted and will not advance in advance.  If they are released, they will not be able to escape far. There is a high possibility that they will be captured again by these rebels. In this case, our efforts will be in vain."

"Okay, let's go!" Vitak nodded and said a few words to Ali, the black boy next to him.  Then the black boy led them and ran quickly in the direction of the labor camp.

"Strange, isn't there a guard here?" Lin Rui frowned.

"Because they don't need guards at all. These people are detained here indefinitely, without trial or sentence. Only food is provided in the labor camp, and it must be exchanged for a specified amount of ore. They have no way to survive leaving here. You too  I saw the machine gun at the gate outside. The rebels are not trying to prevent people from outside from coming in, but to prevent them from escaping." Vitak shook his head.

Lin Rui forcefully opened the iron door of the labor camp and said to Vitak, "They all seem to be hiding in the room, and there is no way we can find them like this. Let the child go, let him tell the workers inside, and let them communicate with each other.  Notice, tell them they are free now.¡±

Whitaker said a few words to the black boy Ali.  Ali nodded and quickly ran into the barracks.  They are said to be barracks, but they are actually some abandoned mines that have been mined. Most of the miners stay here, and another group are still working in the mines.

Soon the mutual notification method worked, and more and more miners gathered in the open space in the middle of the camp.  Lin Rui was slightly surprised and asked, "How many are there?"

"Look at it like this, there are not even one thousand but eight hundred." Vitak said.

These miners are all in ragged clothes and unkempt appearance.  Severe malnutrition and overwork made them severely emaciated.  Everyone's eyes looked dull, and they didn't even show any signs of life.

"Let's go, the door is right there! You are free." Vitak shouted in the local dialect.

But no one moved. The miners looked at them hesitantly, not daring to take a step at all.

"Let's go! Run along this road, cross Route 7, and you will be free. There is a refugee reception center there, with food, beds, and even doctors. Let's go, go quickly!" Vitak shouted anxiously.

The miners still looked at them tremblingly and suspiciously, showing no intention of moving.

"What happened to them?" Lin Rui frowned.

"They must have been frightened for a long time. They have no strength to resist at all. Starvation, beatings and various physical and mental persecutions have caused their spirits to collapse." Vitak shook his head and said, "They don't even have the courage to escape.  ¡±

"Then use your gun to chase them!" Lin Rui picked up his gun and fired into the air, then said to Vitak, "Tell them that anyone who refuses to leave will be shot on the spot."

This time his method worked. The miners, who were forced to die, squeezed out of the labor camp in panic and ran north along the road.

Lin Rui sighed helplessly, "These guys, how do they treat these workers? They can torture people like this. I have heard how miserable the black slaves in South American plantations are. I didn't expect that here, the same as  Black people, General Demby can actually enslave his own compatriots so cruelly."

"Let's go. I finally rescued them." Vitak shook his head.

"Well, what's wrong with that child?" Lin Rui saw Ali, the black boy, squatting at the door of the labor camp and sobbing while making some moves.

"We're late, his family doesn't seem to be able to survive." Vitak sighed.  "The gestures he made are a local tribal witchcraft ritual, mostly used to commemorate the deceased."

Lin Rui sighed and said, "Tell the kid that I'm sorry about this, but he has to go with the others. It will be dangerous to stay here. Especially after the explosion, a large number of enemy troops are very dangerous."You can get there if you can.  "

"Can't we keep him?" Vitak hesitated.

"Of course not, what are you thinking? He will be well taken care of if he escapes to the refugee camp north of Highway 7. But if he is with us, he will be caught in a fight at any time. If the bullets don't have eyes, he will die.  .Are you willing to do this?" Lin Rui frowned.

"I understand what you mean, but this child is so pitiful." Vitak said slowly.

"It is precisely because he is pitiful that he cannot be with us. Living is better than anything else." Lin Rui walked over and patted the child on the shoulder, then turned and left.  "Goodbye him well and give him some food. But don't give him too much, and don't give him money. Too much food and money will make him coveted, and it might kill him."

"Living is not easy, especially in this world. Many times, being alive is a kind of luck. Live well, kid." Vitak sighed, handed some of the food he was carrying to Ali, and lowered his voice.  She said a few words of farewell to him, then turned and left.

Lin Rui and Vitak came to the entrance of the mine and found Yelena and Qin Fen.  "How is the situation inside?" Lin Rui whispered.

"The working miners have also been evacuated. However, Ivan and the others are still inside, and the explosive placement is progressing smoothly. I just talked to him, and they will be out in ten minutes at most." Qin Fen  He said, "How is your situation?"

"You won't believe it. We have rescued almost thousands of workers. They are crowded in abandoned mines and forced to work for a long time every day in order to obtain barely subsistence food. Many of them are so thin that they are skin and bones. What a sight.  It's too tragic." Lin Rui shook his head and said, "What makes people feel even more ironic is that the people who captured and enslaved them also called themselves the Freedom and Liberation Alliance."

¡°General Denby has never been shameless, just get used to it.¡± Qin Fen shrugged.
