Chapter 2020 The Bold Thief

Previous page        Return to Catalog        Next page

Sergey lowered his head and quickly used the tool in his hand to pry open a small device next to the door.  He must first disconnect the infrared alarm device without making any sound.

What worries him even more is the situation outside. Neither the chief nor the sausage is a character he trusts. In his words, they are two damn newcomers.

Thinking of this, Sergey hesitated again.  But he forced himself to focus on the work at hand, "Well, if they do a good job this time, maybe I won't call them newcomers anymore." Sergey shook his head and said to himself.

Sergey, the Russian thief, is indeed an old thief.  It only took him a few minutes to solve the infrared alarm device.  To him, this kind of thing is just technology from the last century.

But some things will not lose their meaning because of the passage of time, such as the voice-activated alarm device.

This thing is highly sensitive, and the slightest movement will cause the alarm to go off.

Sergey¡¯s footsteps almost moved close to the ground to prevent his footsteps from being too heavy and triggering the alarm.

But this way of walking is also a technical job.  He could neither raise his feet too high to make a sound of footsteps, nor make a dragging sound on the ground.

This way of walking is actually very ancient. It is said to have originated from a European medieval thief who was once ridiculed as the devil's pace.  Except for some thieves in Europe who have mastered classical skills, it is difficult for ordinary people to do it.

While Sergey was dismantling the voice-activated alarm device, someone suddenly came in from outside.  It was the sausage that tiptoed in.

This move scared Sergey to death. He immediately stopped what he was doing and glared at the sausage that came in.

Sausage made no further move, but gestured to him silently.

"The enemy is approaching, hiding, and has not been discovered." Sausage made a series of tactical gestures.

From his anxious expression and tactical gestures, Sergey knew why he had rushed in.  Another US military has entered the arsenal.

During this period, the US military is preparing for large-scale military exercises, which consumes a lot of equipment and weapons. It is normal for arms transport vehicles to often come in and out of the arsenal.

But these American troops came at the wrong time.  If they find that a warehouse door is ajar, Sergey and others will be caught in the arms warehouse.

Sergey frowned, knowing that he only had two choices now.

Or, give up what you are doing immediately, exit the warehouse silently, and hide nearby with Sausage and others.

Or, continue working, complete the dismantling work before the arrival of the US military, and then hide in the warehouse together with the three of them.

Of course, with the first option, they would have to waste at least half an hour, but it would ensure safety.  However, even if temporary safety is ensured, the entire operation is tantamount to failure.

The second method is purely gambling.  Bet on how quickly you can clear the alarm, and bet that the US military will not come to this warehouse.

No matter which option you choose, Sergey will have a headache.  But he had to make a choice. The US military would not wait for him.

    No action.

Sergey gritted his teeth and turned around to continue the movements of his hands. He obviously sped up.  Use a screwdriver to pry open the cover, carefully find the wires with tweezers, separate and block them, all done silently.  And just as he was finishing, the sound of car engines outside was already very obvious.  Sergey took the sausage and others and hid in the warehouse.  Only then did Sergey realize that his back was completely soaked.

Just now, if he moved just a little slower, the sound of the car engine outside would come in and activate the alarm device.  Then the three of them will be blocked in the warehouse.

The difference is only a few seconds. For them, this is equivalent to walking on the edge of life and death.  In the end, Sergey won the bet, not by luck, but by his extraordinary courage and skill.  It's not a joke to say that he is a thief.  Really smart thieves are people with excellent psychological qualities who are not confused at all in times of crisis.

Sergey glanced out from the gap at the warehouse door and whispered, "Fortunately, they are not here to get explosives. In other words, they will not enter this warehouse."

"But they are in the yard outside, how should we get out?" the chief whispered.

"Don't worry so much, close the door a little so no one can see it, and then help Sausage get the explosives!" Sergey said in a low voice.

Sausage gritted his teeth and turned around, finding explosives in the warehouse.  "I need at least fifteen kilograms of c4, md-7???purpose detonating device.  Bring that!  "

"What is this?" the chief frowned.  "A drill with a tungsten carbide bit?"

"Directional depth blasting. It is necessary to direct the explosive power of the explosive to the deep layer, so a few holes must be drilled at key locations." Sausage whispered, "Bringing this thing with you will be useful when the time comes."

¡°Well, if you say so.¡± The chief shook his head and put the explosive items selected by Sausage into his backpack one by one.

While they were busy outside, the American troops were also moving ammunition and supplies in front of another warehouse outside.  "Have they left?" the sausage asked after putting it away.

"We haven't left yet! Damn Americans, you just drag your feet on work." Sergey was a little upset and turned around and said, "We are already half an hour behind schedule. And my radio signal seems to be poor. Why?  So, can you contact the boss?"

"Neither can I. The walls of the warehouse are very thick, and the iron doors may block wireless signals." Sausage looked down at his communicator and shook his head.

"Damn, they must be waiting impatiently." Sergey whispered.  "We can't drag it any longer. If you listen carefully, one of their trucks will back out after it's full and another truck will come in, but within a few seconds it will take this truck and the other truck to pull in.  We'll be obscured by traffic. We have to use this gap to get out. Otherwise, we'll be trapped for God knows how long."

"Can it be done?" Sausage whispered, holding the backpack.

"We can only do this. If we wait any longer, the operation will fail. Remember that the chance is only a few seconds. There is someone directing the vehicle from behind, so when the driver of the vehicle reverses, he will naturally stick his head out  Look out the window and look behind you at the commander's gesture. At this time, no one will see us because of the obstruction of the vehicle itself. As long as you are bold and careful and keep your feet quiet, no one will notice. Remember?" Sergey bit.  He said with teeth.

"Okay, let's try our best." Sausage and the chief looked at each other and nodded.
