Chapter 2729 General¡¯s Mission

Ten days later, in the office of the Russian military base in St. Petersburg.  Sitting in front of the large and heavy oak table was an elderly Russian soldier. He was already slightly stout, but the general star on his shoulder showed his seniority and status in the military.  Krosov stood in front of his desk with a straight posture, as humble as a primary school student.

"So, the people in the signal flag force are safe?" the Russian general asked with a frown.

"Yes, General Yuri. They have escaped and returned yesterday. Except for two soldiers who were killed in the previous battle, all others escaped. However, one of the targets they escorted was killed and the other escaped  ." Krosov replied.

"Where is the mercenary team from Black Island?" the Russian general asked in a low voice.

"They also followed back and arrived yesterday." Krosov nodded.

General Yuri mocked coldly, "It seems that the Signal Flag Force needs some serious introspection. As an elite sharp knife force of the Federation, it needs a group of mercenaries to rescue them."

"With all due respect, General. This mercenary team from Black Island Company are all elite warriors with superior strength, far beyond the comparison of ordinary soldiers. And in this type of mission, their status as mercenaries is very advantageous. I  I think they can be used." Krosov nodded.

"Of course I know how they, Silver Wolf Michel's men, could be so bad." General Yuri nodded, "It is said that they have opened a branch in Russia for some time, and they have nothing to do with us.  We¡¯ve worked together several times.¡±

"Yes, and they are currently planning to continue development in Russia." Krosov hesitated.

General Yuri was silent for a while and said, "I know that many people in the military are very supportive of the form of private military companies. Even the president has expressed related intentions. In fact, private military companies can indeed play some roles.  The regular army cannot play a role, and from the perspective of military expenditure, it is more economical than maintaining a standing army. I think their existence can be allowed, but they must operate under our supervision. But many times these  Mercenaries are motivated by profit and are not necessarily completely controlled. This is also a weakness of private military companies."

    "Yes, general." Krosov nodded.

"But then again, if used properly, they can be very useful weapons, just like this time." General Yuri sighed.  "It's not convenient for me to show up at the moment. I'll leave the matter regarding them to you."

Krosov nodded and said, "Yes, General."

General Yuri frowned and said, "Some time ago, the air force eliminated a foreign mercenary team in southern Deir ez-Zor, Syria. There were more than 60 militants from Chechnya, Tunisia and Egypt. Terrorists from Russia were found in Syria.  It is nothing new. Many Chechen militants have now transformed into international mercenaries, and almost anyone can pay to obtain their services.

However, what these Chechen mercenaries like most is to fight against us Russians.  Of course, there are also many Chechens who choose to serve the Russian army. In Syria, there are at least two battalions of the Chechen special police force helping our Russian army fight.  This can also fully illustrate the duality of private military companies.  If used well, they can become a sharp sword to kill the enemy; but if not mastered well, this sharp sword will scratch ourselves.  "

    Krosov nodded.

"Well, you give them this task." General Yuri slowly pushed a stack of files to Krosov.

"The mission to assassinate Dmitri?" Krosov glanced at it and said slightly surprised.

"That's right." General Yuri nodded slowly.

"But the sensitivity of this matter" Krosov whispered.

"It is precisely because of sensitivity that we ask mercenaries like them to do it. Only in this way can we stay out of the matter. Their asking price should not be low, but we can agree." General Yuri said slowly.

Krosov stood at attention and said, "Yes, I'll do it right now."

"In addition, we will file everything separately, including this rescue mission, and everything must be kept secret." General Yuri whispered.

"Understood." Krosov took the information and turned around.

General Yuri sat silently on the chair. After Krosov left, he took out a photo from the drawer, took a look at it, and locked it in the drawer.  If Lin Rui were here, he would be surprised to find that this photo was exactly the same as the old photo he had seen at Long Zhengwu's place. It was basically developed from the same negative.

"Silver Wolf Michelle." General Yuri sighed in a low voice. He said in a tone, "It's been a long time since I saw you, an old friend."

Krosov hurriedly found Lin Rui who had returned to St. Petersburg with the information.  Lin Rui looked at him and said, "I really didn't expect that we would meet so soon. What, the task you assigned has been completed, are you in a hurry to send me a check?"

Krosov frowned and said, "The money will naturally come to your account. Of course, this kind of contract cannot be directly transferred by the military's logistics department. We will provide it to you through other units and other names, consistent with the normal process.  Than, it will probably lag three to four days.¡±

"It doesn't matter if there are more processes, as long as there are a few." Lin Rui shrugged.  He has not yet recovered from his injuries and his face looks a little pale.

"You don't need to worry about these things. We will take care of it, but now there is still a problem that you need to solve." Krosov whispered.

"I won't negotiate the next contract until your money arrives. This is the rule." Lin Rui shook his head.

"Whose rules?" Krosov said impatiently, "It's not like we haven't cooperated with your company before, and we have never heard of such rules."

"These are my rules." Lin Rui looked at him and said, "This place is under my control, so of course you have to follow my rules. Even the girls who sell their bodies on the streets of St. Petersburg don't accept credit. What's more, we are  I'm working hard. I live a life of today and no tomorrow, so naturally I can't accept the arrears of remuneration."

"Okay, okay, I can try to make sure your money arrives as soon as possible." Krosov said helplessly, "Can we negotiate the next contract now?"

"We can talk, but I won't guarantee to accept your mission." Lin Rui shook his head.

Krosov whispered, "This mission was personally requested by the general. Do you understand the weight of it?"

"Of course, since the general proposed it himself, this means that the task will not be simple, so the price will be more expensive." Lin Rui said expressionlessly.
