Chapter 260 Golden Needle Hall

Previous page        Return to Catalog        Next page

Everyone returned to the Meandering Pavilion to wait, and then continued to discuss the matter of Master Shenxiu entering the Ming Realm.  Zhao Ran took this opportunity to learn about the realm and levels of Buddhist practice.

According to the classification of Buddhism, there are six major realms that need to be achieved during practice. From shallower to deeper, they are the realm of eye consciousness, the realm of ear consciousness, the realm of nose consciousness, the realm of tongue consciousness, the realm of body consciousness, and the realm of consciousness.  Unlike Taoism, which divides realms based on ceremonial duties, Buddhism believes that everyone has Buddha nature, but it is just obscured by "dust", so it cannot be revealed and it is impossible to escape from reincarnation.  The purpose of practice is to re-open one's Buddha nature, just like "removing dust", cleaning the spiritual altar of Buddha nature to restore its original appearance.

So where is the spiritual platform?  The spiritual platform is located at the six roots, which are commonly referred to as eyes, ears, nose, mind, body, and mind. This is the root of human beings, just like grass and trees have roots. Six consciousnesses arise from the six roots to distinguish colors, fragrances,  The six sense objects are sound, taste, touch, and law.  The six objects we usually see are contaminated by cause and effect, are false, or distort the original meaning. Only by re-seeing nature can we see the true meaning of the world clearly and truly understand ourselves.

This is the true meaning of opening the six realms.

Each realm of Buddhism represents a large stage of practice, and there are different smaller realms within it.  For example, in the world of vision and consciousness, one needs to go through the knowledge of name and color recognition, the wisdom of conditional acceptance and the wisdom of thinking. In terms of practicing magical powers, the first two positions are similar to the realm of Taoist priests in Taoism, and the wisdom of thinking is similar to the realm of Taoist priests.

????????????? But for a great Buddhist monk like Shen Xiu, who has already opened the realm of body and consciousness, what he needs to achieve is the wisdom of equanimity, the wisdom of obedience and the wisdom of caste, which is similar to the realm of the Taoist Zhengyi Zhenren or the realm of the Quanzhen Heavenly Master.

Like Taoism, Buddhism also has titles corresponding to each realm, and according to the title, one enjoys different treatment in terms of cultivation status.  The realm of eye-consciousness is called a monk, the realm of ear-consciousness is called a novice, the realm of nose-consciousness is called a bhikkhu, the realm of tongue-consciousness is called an Arhat, the realm of body-consciousness is called a Bodhisattva, and the realm of consciousness is called a Buddha.  Of course, this kind of title is meaningless to believers, so believers usually refer to all Buddhist monks as monks, just like the people of the Ming Dynasty refer to Taoist monks as "Taoist priests". This is the threshold between practice and non-practice.  .

Bringing the topic back, Shen Xiu claimed to have entered the realm of Bodhisattva. Such a monk was not something that the few people in the Meandering Pavilion could afford, so Dongfang Jing sent out a flying talisman and asked for help from the Jade Emperor Pavilion.

While waiting, Dongfang Jing asked again if anyone was quitting now.

The cultivation level of several people here is not close to the top. When it comes to fighting, they will definitely be able to play on the periphery. But even if they are playing on the side, the risk is extremely high. If you accidentally get involved in the core area of ????the fight, the outcome will definitely be quite terrible.  However, fighting at the level of Bodhisattvas and real people is also a rare opportunity. Just watching from the outside may be of great benefit to your own practice. If you accidentally help, the Taoist sect will definitely receive a major reward.

The risks and benefits involved need to be evaluated by individuals themselves, and Dongfang Jing does not force it.

As a result of the inquiry, none of these people were willing to quit. Even Zhao Ran was full of expectations and wanted to have a good time observing.

    ¡¡

South of the city of Xingqing Prefecture in the Xia Kingdom, there is the Tianlong Courtyard and the Golden Needle Hall.

Holding a document in hand, the deacon monk hurriedly bypassed the Hall of Five Buddhas and the Hall of Reclining Buddhas, passed through the hanging flower gate, and entered the courtyard.

The middle courtyard of the courtyard is where the elders of Jinzhen Hall handle affairs, and the west wing is the study room of Master Long Huai, the elder of the West Hall.  Tianlongyuan has never been a temple with its own inheritance. To be correct, it is a joint office of Buddhism to handle the affairs of various sects.  Most of the monks in the temple were drawn from various sects and temples in the Xia Kingdom, so they did not have the same relationship as fellow disciples. Therefore, Long Huai, the elder of the west hall of Golden Needle Hall, and Shen Xiu, the first elder, were not fellow apprentices.

Since he was transferred to the Golden Needle Hall of Tianlongyuan, Master Longhuai has been relatively slack in his affairs. The reason is for no other reason than this.  He has been trapped in the Arhat realm for fifteen years and has never broken through. Objectively, this is also due to the trivial matters in Golden Needle Hall.  Today is Long Huai's last day as a deacon in Golden Needle Hall. After tonight, he will return to Longtai Temple. He has sworn to the Buddha that he will never leave the temple again in his life until he breaks the Bodhisattva state.

Xitang is in charge of the Xia Kingdom¡¯s external spying affairs. Whether it is the Ming Dynasty, its old enemy, Tubo, Beiyuan, or even the Buddhist kingdoms in the Western Regions, any Xia Kingdom Buddhist monks who are undercover to spy on others are listed in the Xitang.

There was a pile of documents ready to be handed over on Long Huai's desk. He picked up a pen and signed each of them one by one. After signing, he would sigh softly every time he closed the title page, as if he had counted all his past years.  Throw away the general.  Long Huai suddenly realized that this was actually a kind of practice, a kind of cleansing and polishing of the mind.  The moment of awakening made him feel that his mind was enlightened. The fifteen years of cultivation that had not made any progress suddenly started to make waves again, as if he was going to pay off his achievements in one day, pushing his cultivation to the extreme of tongue consciousness.

The novice announced outside the door that there was something urgent. The information was delivered from Ming Dynasty.

Long Huai took the document, opened it and looked at it, only to see a flying talisman attached to the document.  Flying talismans are Taoist messengers, which means that this information comes from the Ming Dynasty. If it is information from Buddhist countries such as Tubo or Beiyuan, then the flying talisman should be attached.

The content in the flying talisman needs to be decrypted to reveal its true meaning. That is to say, ordinary people stick the flying talisman on their foreheads to "watch". The content may be a scene describing a spiritual eye and spiritual spring somewhere, or it may be a piece of practice experience.  , if it is not decrypted, the original intention cannot be seen.

Xitang probably needs to change the decryption method every year. This year, it uses the elixir decryption method.  Under the flying talisman is the decrypted text of the content, which means: The Taoist Gate has known that the first one has entered the Ming Dynasty and is setting up an ambush in Changning Valley.

Master Long Huai couldn't help but said: "The first person to enter the Ming Dynasty? Xingzhen, what kind of joke is this?"

Novice monk Xingzhen said with a bitter face: "Xitang, I don't know what's going on, but this is information sent by Ming Wu. We in the deacon's office don't dare to suppress it, so we came to report to Xitang."

Mingwu is the fifth undercover agent sent to Ming Dynasty. His importance is self-evident. It is easy not to send news back to Jinzhen Hall, but once the news is sent back, it means that the matter is urgent and there must be no delay.

Long Huai asked doubtfully: "The first one will enter the Ming Dynasty in the near future? How come I don't know? When will it be?"

Xingzhen shook his head: "We in the deacon's office have not heard of this. How about you go and ask in the west hall?"

Long Huai looked at the decrypted text again, put the document aside, and said to Xingzhen: "Wait a moment."

Xingzhen was waiting aside. Master Long Huai took his time and finished processing all the documents on the desk. He breathed a long sigh of relief and secretly rejoiced in his heart. The fifteen years of hard work was finally rewarded today. It seems that not long after, he will be  Then you can hope to enter the realm of Bodhisattva!

Master Long Huai looked at Xingzhen who was waiting on the side, and said with a smile: "You have worked hard these years, and you will still have to work hard in the West Hall from now on. Xu Gu will take over tomorrow, so you must not slack off."

Xingzhen puts his hands together: "I wish the West Hall will realize Bodhisattva soon."

Long Huai was in a happy mood: "I'd like to lend you some good words!"

Xingzhen pointed to the intelligence document on the table and said cautiously: "Xitang, this"

Long Huai chuckled and said, "Just wait a moment, I'll go and say goodbye to the chief, and I want to ask you a question by the way."

After leaving the door, he arrived outside the main room within a few steps. Long Huai asked at the door: "Is the chief there?"

"Is this Senior Brother Xitang? Please come in."

The first Shenxiu came from Jingtan Temple in Yinzhou. He is only sixty-eight years old this year, twenty years younger than Xitang Longhuai, but he has been in the realm of Bodhisattva for five years. Looking at Xia Kingdom, and even the entire Buddhist countries, it is rare.  Such a smart person can be said to have a deep connection with Buddha!  He entered the Golden Needle Hall of Tianlong Yuan three years ago and assumed the first position. He became a top-notch figure in Xia Kingdom's Buddhist sect and was deeply loved by the elders of the Tianlong Yuan Elder Hall. If nothing else, the new generation seven years later will  There must be a place for him in the presbytery.  By then, he will ascend to the top of Xia Kingdom's Buddhist sect and become the youngest elder sitting in the Tianlong Dean's Elder Hall.

The fact that Shen Xiu entered the Golden Needle Hall deeply stimulated Long Huai. It can be said that Long Huai's decision to resign and return to the temple had a lot to do with Shen Xiu.  If Long Huai still had some resistance to Shen Xiu a day ago, then from today onwards, this resistance has been resolved invisibly.

Long Huai, who had a clear idea, sat down with a smile. Looking at Shen Xiu who was making tea for him, he couldn't help but sigh in his heart: If the young leader of the Bodhisattva Realm hadn't appeared in front of him, maybe he would never be able to touch the edge of the Bodhisattva Realm!
